"Good prices, great seafood, hot staff, good location and great ambience."
"I took the shrimp ceviche, it's very tasty but a big plate to eat alone."
5 La Negra Tomasa is not to be missed!! Possibly the best meal and service we experienced during our stay in Tulum Centro--Trini, our server, was excellent! Attentive but not overbearing, and just an absolute joy to talk to. My husband and I happened to come in on a Wednesday night and caught an incredible live performance with fire dancers This place was the absolute best way we could have imagined ending our last night in Tulum: great food, refreshing drinks, fun and lively atmosphere, and top-tier service! If you didn't already love Mexico before this, a night here will do you good
5 Everything about our time here was AMAZING. We walked in around 6:30 on a Sunday and were sat immediately. Quentin our server was super kind and helpful. We ordered the cantaritos with tequila for our cocktails and they were SO good. We then ordered the grilled octopus taco which was to die for. We continued with the ceviche mixto and the aguachiles. They were both incredibly good but very similar so I’d suggest going for one over both the ceviche was less tart and perfect. (they’re also huge portions). There was also a live band that was so good. 10/10 on every aspect, definitely add this onto your list!
5 It is a fantastic place to eat seafood. Very authentic flavors and be careful how much you order as the portion is huge! The manager Franco ensures that staff is well treated and you can tell by how people behave among themselves. Their service is fantastic too! Highly recommended!
5 Even after one week in Tulum and a lot of restaurants and bars we visited here, La Negra Tomasa was one of the outstanding experiences. The seafood tosdadas were so delicious, very fresh and tasteful. The guacamole with spicy grasshoppers so fun, the shrimp broth with tortillas a great welcome in the heat. The service was super kind, the beer garden like atmosphere authentic. We’d definitely come back, when we’re around.
5 It’s not often I give 5 stars! Really worth eating here. They don’t brag about their food—they just tell you, “this is what we have,” and I love it. The food was tasty, and they really understood me when I asked for no cilantro. Also, no one tries to squeeze money out of you. We ate a lot of food and had about 7 margaritas each, so yeah—definitely worth trying if you’re in Tulum. Probably my only 5-star spot in all of Tulum.
4 For starters, they give you complimentary fish soup to sip and it was yummy. We tried the tuna aguachiles and it was melt in your mouth and flavorful. We tried thr octopus taco since we saw many reviews raving about it, honestly the pulpo was cooked very well there was just too many ingredients IMO. The drinks were good, i think what makes this place a must go is the atmosphere. Super fun and lit up!
4 Great place for some Mexican Seafood and their salsa is divine. FOOD: We came to this place on our exploration of tacos. The tacos here were very good, both fish and shrimp. The food overall was very fresh. I also had ceviche and I was surprised by the amount of fish that came in! Wow! Everything was very fresh and the salsa was nice and smokey, just as it should be. SERVICE: The staff were friendly and very quick! They could communicate in English relatively easily and we really enjoyed checking out this place. Atmosphere was casual with chill vibes and good music.
5 The food is delicious, and the value for money is excellent. The aromas are incredible, the bar is beautifully showcased, and the service is simply amazing. I’ve been a chef for 20 years, and this has been my favorite place since I arrived in Tulum a month ago. I highly recommend it. It’s romantic, family-friendly, and festive all at once. Trini is the best waitress!
